This recipe is heavy on the black pepper, Central Texas style. If you like it a little less spicy, you can reduce the pepper, as needed. This is a sweet and spicy rub that will really make the color of the pork pop, with a nice red hue, and it will really help bring out the natural pork flavor.
This is a great, simple all purpose pork rub. It can be used on pork ribs, pork butts, or even pork chops.
- 1/2 cup kosher salt
- 1 cup 16 mesh black pepper
- 1/3 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 cup paprika
- 1/4 cup garlic powder
- 1/4 cup onion powder
Mix all of the ingredients together, and rub liberally on any type of pork
